NIGELLA e o CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS

1 pint of malt vinegar
1 pound of onions
1 pound of bramley apples
1 pound of chopped dates
1 pound of sugar
1 tsp mustard powder
salt and pepper

 



INTRODUCTION

Sweet and delicious, sorry it's in 'old weights' because it's an old recipe. It's very good with pork pie (I know it's not good for you, just don't eat it every week!)
METHOD



1.Chop all ingredients as finely as you like (or you can be bothered, I use a food processor), place in a heavy pan and simmer until it looks like chutney (about 20 mins), pot in sterilised jars whilst still hot. Makes about 6 medium sized jars.
2.Needs about a month to mature.
